Who We Are
In May 2024, Drew realized just how much he’d spent on freeze-dried meals that he didn’t actually enjoy during his hunting trips. Determined to create something better, he pitched the idea of buying a freeze dryer to his soon-to-be wife, Adrina, on a Wednesday. By Friday, the machine was on its way. By the end of the month, NCK Freeze Dried, LLC was born: “NCK” representing our home base in North Central Kansas.
What started with freeze-dried candy experiments, (our first official product and fan-favorite “Skittos”) quickly grew into an interest in learning what all our freeze dryer was capable of. After mastering candy, we branched out into one-ingredient, organic pet treats and eventually into full freeze-dried meals, testing and refining recipes until we landed on a few that all of our friends and family enjoyed.
We’re a husband-and-wife team who spend our evenings and weekends growing and refining our craft. We value the hard work, honesty, and neighborly spirit of our rural community, and we instill those same values into every product we make. Through all of life’s seasons, our goal at NCKFD stays the same: to create excellent, shelf-stable products for everyone.
